Feathers

Her innnocence that was once there; slowly became corrupted in the cruel, greedy, and prejeduced world she lives in.  The trust she had for others, her naive self, thinking that everyone she met was good. She was like a child, not knowing who to trust with her insecurities and flaws. She thought she could be loved.

That "innocence" was shattered. 

She "realized" that who she was needed to change. Everything about her; from her true smile, to her blind trust slowly faded.

She hides behind emotionless eyes, and a haughty demonor to "survive."

Instead of use and relentlessly hurt her, others follow her, having a respect in a scary and twisted way.

People see her as vain, and arrogant.

She'd rather be seen as that, rather than weak.

Even though her "feathers" turned black; that just means no one could further corrupt her.
